The BASK46 Sandwich Lineup, Ranked by How Fast You Stop Talking
There is a moment at the table when the food lands and the conversation just quietly dies. Nobody is offended. Everyone at that table understands exactly what happened. That moment is the entire point of the sandwich section at BASK46 on Route 46 in Woodland Park.
Nine sandwiches. Every single one comes out with french fries. No side math, no "would you like to add fries for four dollars," no negotiating. Fries. Standard. That is how it should work everywhere and somehow it does not.
Here is what you are actually choosing between.

The Chicken Cutlet Corner
Four chicken sandwiches, all built on a breaded cutlet, all headed in completely different directions. This is where most people end up and it is not an accident.
Thunderbird
Breaded chicken cutlet, creamy spinach, fresh mozzarella, crispy onions piled on top. This is the sandwich that converts people who claim they "never order the chicken." The creamy spinach is doing something slightly unfair and we are not going to apologize for it.
Garden Bird
Same cutlet, completely different personality. Fresh mozzarella, arugula, tomato, prosciutto, pesto, balsamic vinaigrette over the top. It reads like the sandwich that owns a linen shirt.
Fried Chicken Sandwich
Breaded cutlet tossed in a sriracha butter sauce, then mayo, pickles and romaine. Heat, fat, acid, crunch, all four corners covered. If you only get one sandwich here for the rest of your life, this is a defensible pick.
Chicken Parm Sandwich
Breaded cutlet, fresh mozzarella melted over it, and vodka sauce instead of straight marinara. That one swap is the whole difference. It is creamier, it clings better, and it turns a sandwich everyone has had a hundred times into one worth talking about.
The Steak Section, Where Things Get Serious
Cheesesteak
Sliced ribeye, sautéed peppers and onions, melted beer cheese. Beer cheese, on a cheesesteak, in New Jersey, where people have very loud opinions about cheesesteaks. It holds up. Come argue about it in person.
Rich Man's Cheesesteak
The name is not a bit. Sliced filet mignon tips, peppers, onions, mushrooms, bourbon sauce and swiss, all on garlic bread. This is what happens when a cheesesteak sells the company and moves to the shore.
Steak Sandwich
Grilled skirt steak with sautéed mushrooms, onions, sautéed garlic and mozzarella, with chimichurri on the side for dipping. Order this when you want a steak dinner but you do not want to sit up straight and use a knife.
Two Grilled Cheeses That Grew Up and Got Jobs
Grown Up Grilled Cheese
Brie, swiss, american, cheddar and jack, all layered, then smoked bacon, sweet butter pickles and sweet fig spread on sourdough. Five cheeses. Go ahead and count them. The fig spread sounds like a curveball and it absolutely is not.
Braised Beef Short Rib Grilled Cheese
Braised short rib, cheddar and caramelized onions on sourdough. This is the long week sandwich. You will know when you need it.
The Fries Are Not an Afterthought
Every sandwich lands with french fries, which is the correct default. But the sides list is sitting right there if you want to trade up. Truffle parm fries. Sweet potato waffle fries with truffle aioli. Onion rings. Disco fries, because this is New Jersey and there are rules.
And if you are trying to behave, the honey and bacon brussels sprouts are genuinely on the menu, right next to the sautéed asparagus and garlic spinach. We already wrote the full guide to eating well at a bar and grill if that is where your head is at today.
Not in a Bread Mood
The sandwich section is not the only way in. The sliders come four ways, including the Fuggetabout It with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, prosciutto, arugula and balsamic glaze on house brick oven bread, plus chicken parm, buffalo chicken and mini angus beef.
The wraps run even deeper. California chicken with bacon and honey mustard, Italian Fresco, chicken BLT, cajun with boom boom sauce, chicken caesar, buffalo, chipotle and southwest. Breaded or grilled, and you can sub steak or shrimp into any of them. They all come with fries too.
What to Drink With It
The cheesesteak and the fried chicken sandwich want something cold, crisp and uncomplicated. The short rib grilled cheese can stand up to something darker and maltier. The Garden Bird does fine with just about anything light. Take a look at what is on tap at BASK46 before you commit, because the list moves.
